The Dolls House is nestled in the heart of the historic town of Holt. At over 100 years old, this cottage is full of character and charm with exposed brickwork and double fronted wood burning stove.
The name of the cottage wasn’t an accident! It is a perfectly packaged bijou cottage, stylish decorated to highlight the traditional features.
Located less than a minute from Byfords restaurant, the quiet yard where The Dolls House is situated with allow you all the peace and quiet you would want whilst remaining a completely central.
The Accommodation
As you walk through the pretty pink doorway, you come into the compact and well designed kitchen. It has all you will need to prepare meals, including oven, double ring electric hob, kettle, toaster and fridge with freezer section. The shelves have plates, bowls, glass wear and Emma Bridgewater mugs.
The original fireplace has been knocked through into the lounge, with a double fronted woodburning stove which provides glorious warmth through the whole house.
A comfy 3 seater sofa and wingback arm chair in the lounge make for perfect spots to watch TV, or chat around the roaring fire. We provide wood for the fire (enough for your first night). Wifi is free to use at the property during your stay.
The TV is smart, and has a DVD player. There are some traditional old games in the trunk for you to enjoy.
Up the traditional winding Norfolk staircase, the cottage sleeps four in two comfortable double beds, and is suitable for children and infants. The rooms have hanging rails and space for luggage.
We can provide a travel cot and stair gate for use during your stay. Plastic plates, bowls and kiddie cutlery is in the kitchen.
Please be aware the wood burning stove has no guards at time of writing.
The bathroom is off the kitchen, which includes a shower, sink and WC. You will find a basket of toiletries for guests to use, and we provide towels and hand towels for your stay.
Although there is no outside garden space, the cottage is in a gravel yard, rather than on a road - so the bench outside the cottage is perfect for a morning coffee with a crossword, or an early evening glass of wine reading a book.
Holt is a bustling market town, with upmarket shops and boutiques, art galleries and a central point to explore nearby beaches.
This location is particularly popular for families visiting the Christmas Spectacular at Thursford and Gresham School.
Our welcome book contains information about the local area including our recommendations of great places to eat, things to do and local walks with maps. We have also contained details of the renovations of the cottage, including the paint colours for which we get a lot of questions and compliments.
